    A good leader is one who leads by example, as if to say "Come with me and we'll do this together". The most respected leaders I've known (at work) are people who don't ask you to do something they aren't willing to do themselves.

    Easily confused with 'manager', but not even similar.

    I think the term "leadership" is old and rigid and seems to make younger people feel like they can't have it till they're old.

    I like what Mike Ruel said above. Influence. Someone who can tip the scales.
