What is your “life verse”?

image

Many people have a verse of scripture that they cling to, that they consider their “life verse.” Something that not only speaks to them but that they identify with.

Do you have a verse like that?

If so, what is it?

Mine is Matthew 9:12-13 from The Message:

12 Jesus, overhearing, shot back, “Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? 13 Go figure out what this Scripture means: ‘I’m after mercy, not religion.’ I’m here to invite outsiders, not coddle insiders.”

So… lay it on me.

I would say it starts with "In the Beginning" and ends "Amen"

To narrow to one Book wold be Ephesians.

But if I have to narrow it to one verse. Romans 12:1-2

For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Cor 5:21 (ESV)

Learn to do good.
Seek justice.
Help the oppressed.
Defend the cause of orphans.
Fight for the rights of widows.
Isaiah 1:17
That's deep!

Shawn–
Mine is Psalm 138:8a–"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me…" No matter where I am or where I go, God will see me through with his purpose in mind.

John 13:4 -5

Strange but true.

Think about it. God of the universe at one point in human history, takes off his clothes and washes feet.

New Years Eve 1999. I was sitting on the porch praying about the upcoming year. With my eyes closed I saw what seemed to be a slot machine. It was spinning before me. First the word John, then 13, then 4. I ran to get my bible and thought it was really funny at first. But read within the context of verse 5 as well it pretty much has captured my heart.

Rev. 12:11
They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony and they were not afraid to die.
