What is YOUR favorite worship song?
Yes. You. I’m pointing at you. Not that basket case in the cubicle behind you.
You.
I need to know the song that, when you hear that first guitar lick, or drum beat, or those first words, or that first chord on the organ, your heart and soul elevates.
You know the song. It’s like sinking into the comfiest couch ever, and getting torqued by 10,000 watts of pure power, all at the same time.
It’s that song that seems to draw heaven and earth closer, just for a little while.
I need to know.

Call me a bit traditional, but it has to be either:
GRACE LIKE RAIN - Todd Agnew
or
AMAZING GRACE (MY CHAINS ARE GONE) - Chris Tomlin
I just can’t stay in my seat through either of them.

I’m probably like a lot of people, as it can change over time. I can tell you the last 5 in order from past to present are:
1. Blessed Be Your Name - Redman
2. You Have Stirred My Soul - Robbie Seay
3. Everything Glorious - Crowder
4. From the Inside Out - United
5. Saviour King - United
Yeah, I’ve been on a Hillsongs United kick.

“In Christ Alone…” Not the cheesy Micheal English one…the one that says, “In Christ alone, my hope is found, he is my light, my strength my song. This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fearsest drought and storm…what hights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when stivings cease…..” I could go on….I get covered in goose bumps and start to cry when I sing the verses….it is my favorite….

It’s got to be “grace like rain”.

What about “God of this city” by Chris Tomlin or “God of our yesterdays” by Matt Redman?
Or… Salvation is here (Hillsong), At the cross (Hillsong), We fall down (Passion), Worthy (Matt Redman), There must be more (Tim Hughes)…
Seems like i can’t make up my mind on this one…

…and what about yours?

Michiel,
Thanks for asking. There are several songs that bring me to a place of peace or joy or any other emotion. Some songs just fit my mood.
If I had to pick one song, though, it’d be Crowder’s Make a Joyful Noise / I Will Not Be Silent. There’s just something about that song.
