Those who love and live lies

14-15″How blessed are those who wash their robes! The Tree of Life is theirs for good, and they’ll walk through the gates to the City. But outside for good are the filthy curs: sorcerers, fornicators, murderers, idolaters—all who love and live lies.

Those who wash their robes. What an interesting way to put it. The KJV says it like this; “Blessed are they that do his commandments”.

I also find it very interesting that the Bible specifies “all who love and live lies.” To me, that’s very different than someone who may be in a seedy occupation or lifestyle that don’t know who Jesus is.

If you know who Jesus is, and you choose to ignore him and do your own thing, that’s trouble. Then again, all of us choose to do our own thing more often than not. I mean, come on. Let’s be real about things.

I so often choose myself over others. It’s just the way of things. I don’t want it to be this way, and I tell myself I’m going to change, and sometimes I make the right decisions, but let’s talk about failure.

Then again, let’s not.

Lord God, your son still amazes me to this day. May I choose the straight and narrow path, and may I avoid a life of loving lies. I want to love the truth… the way, the truth and the life!
