But it worked for me.

You have to factory reset your phone.

Prior to factory resetting my battery was draining at about 10% an hour with almost no usage. It would be dead before I got home.

Now, my phone’s draining 10% every 2.5 – 3 hours with normal usage. Totally acceptable.

Here’s how you factory reset your Motorola Droid:

Back up all the pictures, MP3’s, etc. from your phone first by copying that data to your computer.

Turn off your phone.

Slide out the hardware keyboard, hold X and turn on the phone. Keep holding X.

A yellow hazard triangle will appear on your Droid’s screen. When it does, release X then press the volume up key and camera key (both on the side of your phone) at the same time.

You’ll be presented with some options on screen (you can release volume up and camera now.) Use the directional pad on the hardware keyboard to go to “Factory reset/wipe user data” (or something similar) and press the center of the d-pad to confirm.

Use the d-pad again to scroll down to “Yes – delete all user data” and press the center of the d-pad to confirm.

That’s it. After choosing to delete all user data it’ll take a couple minutes for your phone to do so. It will restart and you’ll have to go through activation again just like when you got your phone.

Now, understand, this does NOT roll your phone back to a previous firmware version. If you’re running 2.2, you’ll still be running 2.2 after the reset.

Questions? Problems? <a

I’m unofficially titling the session “Uniting prayer and technology.” Can you guess what it’s about?

In today’s super connected world, if you’re a church, you MUST have an online presence of some kind. You MUST have a Facebook page and a church website. And, because of this, it’s only natural to extend this technological footprint into the world of prayer.

My question to you is this: has technology affected your prayer life? Ever texted someone asking for prayer, or been texted with a prayer request? Taken part in an online prayer event? Prayed for someone because of something you’ve seen on Facebook or Twitter?

Let me know by <a

Mobile phones are increasingly part of our lives, and we seem to be doing everything but making phone calls. Reading the news, watching a YouTube video, and taking photos at events like the World Cup are things we expect to do on mobile phones – sharing our experiences on these little screens should be just as easy and fast as on big ones.

When apps work well with each other, sharing becomes as second nature on machines as it does in person. The Android platform is really good at that, and we’ve worked with the Android team to make it super easy to share what’s happening. Today we are excited to announce that Twitter for Android is available in Android Market!

Seesmic Look for 30 days you’ll be hooked on Twitter.

Seesmic Look is a fancy new Twitter client (read: a program that runs on your Windows PC that brings Twitter to your desktop) that will make using Twitter a much more fun and easy experience.

Don’t believe me? Check out the image below and tell me that doesn’t look like quality stuff.

Seesmic Look (if you already have a Twitter account just sign in; if you don’t, click Create Account in <a

The very nature of SMS requires speed (heck, the first S stands for short!) and the Droid SMS client misses the mark.

Gmail Tasks integration – Tasks isn’t a Labs feature anymore. It’s enabled by default in Gmail. So why isn’t it built into the Android Gmail client? Big fat zero on this one.

Google Apps calendar integration – not there yet. Instead, you have to share your Google Apps calendar with your Gmail account’s calendar to see your Google Apps calendar on the Droid. Weak.

A great music player – the built-in player barely has more than shuffle and repeat. It’s also ugly. I’ve seen three year old flip phones with better music players than the Droid.

This list makes it sound like I hate the Droid. Not at all. I’m very happy with it. The Gmail client, for the most part, is amazing, the browser is almost as good as a desktop browser, the actual phone software is responsive and easy to use, and the user interface is clean and easy to understand.

The four features I mention simply should have been better at launch. If you own a Droid, your list is probably different than mine (if so, be sure to share in the comments!). I’m also sure we’ll see fixes for these things with future updates.

Be sure to <a
