Wendy and I decided we wanted to get away just for a couple days, so two months ago we planned a 3 day, 2 night trip to Chicago. We got up here earlier today and checked out downtown and ate famous Giardano’s pizza for supper (thanks for the suggestion Matt).
We got done eating supper and decided we were going to grab a couple Dunkin Donuts for breakfast since we don’t have a DD anywhere near Terre Haute anymore. But first, we were going to check out the Sears Tower Skydeck and take some pictures.
As we neared Sears Tower, we noticed a couple streets were blocked off. Suddenly, two helicopters, one normal looking, and a black one with a camera rigging on the front, basically buzzed the street just one block over. We tried getting through the human roadblocks telling us, “they’re filming a movie, street’s closed,” but couldn’t find a way, so we headed north to see if we could see more.
Lo and behold, an empty alley that lead right to the street where they were filming. I ran down the street with my wife whisper-yelling at me, “we’re going to get in trouble!”
We emerged not 1/2 a block from the action and snapped some pics. Basically it was a fire truck on fire with a helicopter buzzing the scene with a spotlight. They’re not great, and there was no sign of Christian Bale or any other actor, but still. Exciting! Click here to check out all 12 images.
