Allergies kicked up Saturday night. Sore throat and a nagging little cough. By all means nothing to stop me but I’m leaving for Guatemala on Thursday and the last thing I need is allergy problems to be present, just to be exacerbated by international travel.
So, if you’d pray that I can kick this little issue I’d appreciate it.
You can also pray for the overall trip if you’d like. Can’t hurt.

Right now I’m on the road, heading for Owen Valley Christian Fellowship to lead worship with a great group of people (including the world-famous locally known ok just a really good guy Scot Longyear thankyouverymuch). You can follow our antics here on Twitter.
We’d appreciate your prayers this morning as we seek to glorify not ourselves but the God we serve and live for.
What’s on your agenda for today?
That’s Rachel pictured with her son Garrett.
Rachel went home to Jesus tonight.
She was 36 years young.
Cancer won this battle.
But we know Jesus beat death a long time ago.
Because of that, we can rejoice.
We rejoice because we’ll get to see Rachel again someday.
We rejoice because she’s sluffed off this mortal coil.
No more cancer. Only victory.

So, you want to know how to be the hands and feet of Jesus? Check out this story over at Scot’s blog, resonate, for an eXchange’rs story of how they decided to trust in Him to provide.
out of the corner of my eye – a woman on her cell phone – two teenage kids standing in the line – kids heads down – mother tearing up – I know what’s happening – checkout lady patiently waiting – no, actually clearly frustrated and angry she has someone in line that is not moving through like everyone else – I wait at the door – standing there silently – hesitating multiple times – do I do something – can I do something – surely with her being on the phone with her bank, the money will get transferred – I can go on with my life – do I trust him ….. I am willing to step out to help after God clearly put her and her kids in my path – should I do something – anything – how much is it – 30, 50, 70 dollars – do I trust him ….. – I look at the register – 120 dollars – tears roll down her face – she leaves the store in total embarrassment – humiliated – scared – I can’t leave – I stand there for another 10 seconds – I’m being tested – am I his hands and feet

UPDATE: This is crazy! It looks like Jennika’s been sponsored in record time. THANK YOU!
Continuing in our Thursday tradition, we highlight a Compassion child that has been waiting six months or more for sponsorship. Not sure if sponsoring a child through Compassion is worth it? I beg to differ.
Today we’re highlighting Jennika from Haiti.
Jennika lives with her father and her mother. Her father is sometimes employed as a laborer and her mother is sometimes employed as a seller in the market. Jennika works at home cleaning. There are 5 children in the family.
For fun, Jennika enjoys playing group games. She attends church activities regularly and is in pre-school where her performance is above average.
Jennika needs you. Your $38 a month will literally change not only her life right now, but the landscape of her future. You can click here to sponsor Jennika or click here to view other children in need of sponsorship.
If you choose to sponsor a child today, please email me and let me know!
