What’s your favorite movie?

Of all time.

The best ever.

The one that, if it came on TV, you’d cancel any plans you might have to sit down and watch it.

Go.

My 2009 “Must Watch” list

image

I subscribe to several feeds that contain trailers for upcoming movies. What I’ve always meant to do, but have never done, is keep a “must watch” list for the current year’s new releases.

Well, I’m remedying that, right now.

Below are the movies I’m most looking forward to in 2009. As I watch them, I’ll update this post with links to my 60SMR for each movie.

  • Watchmen – releases March 6 – easily my most anticipated movie of 2009. I’ll see this one on opening weekend
  • Outlander – releases January 23 – I’m a sucker for B+ movies (not the schlock you see on the SciFi channel on weekends though, ugh)
  • The Mutant Chronicles – releases April 24 – another indie scifi flick that looks like good solid fun
  • Terminator: Salvation – releases May 22 – are you seeing a trend yet?
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine – releases May 1 – While X3 was somewhat weak the trailer for Wolverine looks fantastique (I rhymed!)
  • Where the Wild Things Are – releases October 16 – supposedly the first “version” of this movie was scrapped and it’s being reshot. Word is, though, the first version was simply too awesome for movie studios
  • Funny People – releases July 31 – from the maker of 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up

There’s more but, because I didn’t maintain any sort of list until now, I can’t remember them. I’ll add them as I remember them, though.

Now, the fun part.

It’s your turn. What movies are you looking forward to in 2009?
