I tried doing a What’s your top 5 blogs series with some of my favorite bloggers (which included some “A-list Christian bloggers” and some regular shmoes like me) but only one person responded. The real question is, does me saying that about those that did not respond mean they’ll never respond? Not at all. They don’t even read this blog to begin with, so, s’all good.
I asked Shaun Groves about his 5 favorite blogs (at the moment, not all time). Here’s his response:
1. BrantHansen.typepad.com – Accordians, threatening violence against five year-olds, conversations between dogs (some with only three legs), questioning the methods and meaning of “church” in America. And all of it slathered in sarcasm and love. I heart Brant Hansen.
2. SethGodin.typepad.com – As an indie artist and the guy heading up this new thing over at CompassionBloggers.com, I do a lot of self-study in marketing. Seth Godin is a brilliant marketer – but accessible enough for a boneheaded musician like me to understand and copy copy copy.
3. www.BooMama.net – I went on a bloggin trip with Compassion International to Uganda not long ago and BooMama was there blogging with us. Now, she’s a girl, obviously, and she writes about girl stuff like kids and recipes, but she’s also just “good people” as she might say. She’s an incredibly witty, very Southern, very funny and fast paced writer who always makes me smile and feel and wish I cooked, or at least lived closer to her when she does.
4. blog.Compassion.com – This is the official blog of Compassion International. Stories from staff all over the world get posted here so it’s a great place to learn about and be inspired by their ministry to children every day.
5. BrianSeay.wordpress.com – Brian is my brother-in-law, former booking agent and road manager, friend of fifteen years, now working for Compassion International and living just across the street from us. We both travel a lot, sometimes out of the country, so I read his blog daily to stay in touch…and to see how I’m being made fun of today.
Thanks very much to Shaun for taking the time to answer these five ridiculously simple questions that many others could have but chose not to. Or something.
Also, be sure to read Shaun’s blog frequently. Great subject matter, even better writing, and most of all, you should see what he can do with a cob of corn (that image at the top is just a teaser).
So, add these to your feed reader so you can keep up with them. Don’t forget to add Shaun to your feed reader, too. And Shawn.
Ok, your turn. What are your favorite 5 blogs of the moment?
