Bob is a resident at the Lighthouse Mission. Bob was on his way across the country when he ran out of money in Ohio. He pawned some stuff and had enough to get him as far as Terre Haute. He landed at the mission a few months ago and has been there ever since.
We heard he played guitar and sang so we asked him to play a little song.
It took you guys, the readers of this blog, some of whom I’m friends with (in reality and virtually) and some I’ve never even heard from before, just under a week to put together the funds to buy a computer for a pastor in India who couldn’t afford one.
Pastor Joshua Gona is making great strides in India, winning souls for Christ. He’s even sent along some amazing pictures of his work. Here’s just a few of the images (there will be more at the end of this post.)
To share his story he needs to travel to a nearby town to use an Internet cafe because he doesn’t have a computer of his own. Consider the cost of travel, internet cafe use, etc.
Pastor Gona has asked for my help in getting him a computer. I’m excited to help him.
And who am I to block a blessing? I figured I’d get you involved, too.
Here’s one for $259.99. Shipping to India will likely be another $50 or so.
Let’s raise enough money to buy Pastor Gona a netbook. It looks like it’ll be around $310 with shipping $260 (a friend has graciously agreed to pay for shipping!).
Click the ChipIn widget below or in the sidebar if you’d like to help. Even $1 will make a difference.
I’d like to order the netbook by the end of February. There’s more pictures below of Pastor Gona’s after school program.
