I heard this morning on NPR that AAA is estimating 475 deaths this holiday weekend and 26,000 injuries.

Four hundred and seventy five deaths. Twenty six thousand injuries.

Do those numbers not just floor you?

They do me.

So, right now, wherever you are, pause for 60 seconds and pray for those traveling this holiday weekend. Pray for safety and security for those in the air and on the road. Moreover, let’s pray that those crazy family meetings where there is tension and anger and, sometimes, even hate, go better than anyone could ever expect or hope for.
