How does God speak to you?

Simple question today.
How does God speak to you?
Do you hear him audibly?
Do you see signs and wonders?
Do you only hear him through his word?
Do foot cream and Burger King billboards contain hidden messages from Him to you?

Jesus follower.

The two most recurring ways that I hear or hear from God are:
1. A soft voice speaking to my thoughts (1 Kings 19:12).
2. Pictures of things, some moving, some still (Joel 2:28).

Dustin, awesome. Thanks for the scripture references!

* A voice in my thoughts (thanks Dustin, never figured out how to explain it better!)
* Through inner visions – metal pictures placed there by the Holy Spirit
* Movies! (you might have been joking about the billboard thing – but most of my friends have stopped rolling their eyes when I quote Gandalf (Lord of the Rings) or Morpheus (The Matrix) … or even Leonidas (300) while prophesying! Quotes from movies I have watched are divinely implanted while I'm praying or speaking, and they have an impact when delivered.
* The same thing happens with some songs as well.

I was only half kidding about the billboard thing. Who am I to limit God to *not* speaking through billboards?

LOL Exactly! :D
I'm all for unorthodox methods! Yay God!

I'll get songs or lines from songs as well. I love how infinitely creative our God is in speaking to us!

primarily through scripture and the writings of the host of witnesses that lived holy lives for the past 2000 years since his ascension.
That "internal voice" is primarily conscience for me…

mental pictures ……. kinda like watching a slide show … He seems to like puzzles …. many occur while in meditation and while speaking in tongues … I attempt to be a blank slate ( tabula rasa) and let Him draw the picture.

Sounds like a wide-open channel between He and you!
