Grace Notes

image Do you live near Nashville, Tennessee? If so, check out Grace Notes, a benefit concert that can help a dad and his kids. Read, from the Shlog:

I didn’t know Jenny Carlisle.  I don’t know her husband Josh or their three kids Hannah (8), Isaac (6) or Gabriel (18 months).  We’ve never met or talked.  Not once.

But I know their story.

Jenny was diagnosed with rare drug-resistant form of ovarian cancer while pregnant with Gabriel.  She lived for about a year after he was born and passed away in Josh’s arms in her bed at home in February of this year.

Even after insurance paid its part, Josh still had a pile of bills to pay.  Doing that while spending time with three kids who need the love and attention of two parents from only one, is exhausting – exhausting enough for friends to notice and want to help out.

One of those friends is Cindy.  She teaches at the preschool my kids go to twice a week.  She stopped me in the hall one day and asked if I’d help her put on a concert to raise money for this family’s bills.  I am.  This show will only help if people show up and give so I’m asking you to help get the word out through your blogs and e-mail lists.  Here are the details.

WHAT: ‘Grace Notes’ – A benefit concert and silent auction for Josh Carlisle and family. Featuring Nathan Tasker, Paul Colman, me & Rick Hammond of Rev21.

WHERE: Fellowship Bible Church – 1210 Franklin Rd, Brentwood, TN. (in the Back Barn)

WHEN: Thursday 07/19/2007 7pm

What do you think of that pic of Shaun? He looks so antiestablishment.

I wish; I’m 5 hours from Nashville and on-call for my job this weekend, so :( but I’m sure it’ll be great.
