God’s standards
So, news has come down the pipe that Newt Gingrich had an affair during the Clinton impeachment process back in the 90’s. Here’s a little of what Newt had to say about his infidelity:
“The honest answer is yes,” he said according to the Associated Press. “There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There’s certainly times when I’ve fallen short of God’s standards.”
Whoa, whoa, whoa. “There’s certainly times…”?
Newt, I hate to break it to you, but there’s not times when you fall short. You always fall short. I always fall short. Please don’t confuse yourself as possibly being close to living up to God’s standards. You’re never anywhere close, and things will go much smoother for you once you realize that.
