Confess your OCD quirks. Right now.
I’ve got a thing with keys. I’m always thinking I’m going to lock them in the car or in the house or forget them somewhere.
When Wendy and I go somewhere, and if she drives, we get out of the car and before the doors shut, I ask her: “you have the keys?”
Every time. I ask every time we get out.
I also jingle my keys in my pocket when I get out of my car, just to make sure I didn’t forget them.
I drive myself nuts sometimes.
I know. I’m a freak.
Your turn to confess. Click here and embrace your freakish self.

Wow, I found that reading about your “quirk” could make one a lil nuts…Poor Wendy! But, I’m the same way about having things deleted. I can’t stand to have things I’ve read in the inbox, movies I’ve watched on the DVR, numbers left on my caller ID, etc. My wife calls it annoying, but, for the purpose of this blog, I’ll call it a quirk.

I am the same way. I have a certain pocket for everything. Keys in the left front. Change in the right front. Wallet in the right hip. Every time I walk out the house, I pat my left front pocket to make sure the keys are there. I’ll find that I do the same quick double-pat several times throughout the day. If my wife drives for some reason, as soon as we get out of the car, I’m asking for my keys back. There is a good side to it, though: I’m so obsessed with it that I very rarely misplace my keys, wallet, phone, etc…

I constantly check the MPH while I’m driving. Even when it’s in cruise. Seriously, every 20-30 seconds.
I blogged awhile ago about some other (more intense) OCD. Here’s the link in case anyone has a few minutes to kill.

I have sooo many OCD moments, Matt calls me Monk!! I love that show, by the way!!
Let’s see…the one that is standing out in my mind at the moment is stacking books on a shelf from biggest to smallest (not category)…but I get so frustrated because somtimes you come across a book that is long and shor…so it can’t go with the tall books because it is too short and it can’t go with the short books because it is too long….it really bothers me….
I am incredibly OCD about bank facing my money too….I get honked at in drive threws because I have to put my money in my wallet before I drive off….I think I drive Tim nuts….

Okay don’t think me a freak but when I clean the bathroom I have this ritual where I have to back out and survey the room to make sure it is good and the towels are hung up even. Sometimes I have to keep going back to double check it. If I get interrupted I have to start all over again. I know OCD…I need to see a doctor!

I, too, have a thing with my car keys. I put the ring on my finger when I get out of the car. And pen caps. The long, hang-ie down part that holds it on your notebook has to be aligned with the printing on the pen.

Checking doors to make sure they are locked. Again.

I just recently acquired a new OCD habit, constantly checking to see if food is in my teeth. Even if I haven’t eaten anything, like before leaving the house. I never have time to eat breakfast but I check my teeth 10 times before I leave the house. I guess that’s what comes with having braces. And Toby’s deleting obsession does drive me nuts. Cause the second I need a number he’ll have deleted it off the caller ID :)
