Race for the Cure 2007

image

For the first time in my life I’m taking part in the Race for the Cure. The organization I’m registered through has been so gracious as to give me my own donations page to help raise dollars to help with the fight against breast cancer.

First, let me just clarify. No, I’m not a woman. I’m married to a woman who happens to have breasts. I’ll leave it at that.

Anyway, if you’d like to help me raise some moolah to go toward this worthy cause, hit up my donations page (or click the Komen for the Cure image at the top of this post) and you can donate from there. Even a dollar would help quite a bit. The race begins Saturday at 10 a.m. so I have exactly 48 hours from the time this post originated to get some donations.

If you’re already sponsoring someone, then thanks! Also, if you just want to check out my local Race for the Cure event page, click here.

Radical honesty

876579_12803962 I love the concept. That little filter that exists between brain and mouth? Get rid of it. Let’s all just be honest and tell everyone else what we’re really feeling.

Yes. I know. One of the most idiotic ideas ever, right up there with Vanilla Coke and giving Phil Spector a gun permit. Deceit makes our world go round. Without lies, marriages would crumble, workers would be fired, egos would be shattered, governments would collapse.

And yet…maybe there’s something to it.

WARNING: this article contains some foul language. Really foul. BUT… the article also touches on authentic relationships, and I think reading it might make you think before you tell that next little white lie.

Aren’t we all looking for real, authentic relationships?

Check out Los on LA Ink tonight

image Be sure and watch LA Ink tonight on The Learning Channel (a.k.a. TLC) at 10 p.m. EST to see Los gets his new tattoo.

Los was a worship leader at Sandals Church in California when the episode was filmed but now works at Buckhead Church in the ATL as Service Programming Director.

Check out his “oh yeah!” video here.

30 is okay, 29 is not

imageIs it weird that, when adjusting the volume on the sound system in my car, I only set it to an even number OR a factor of five? 35? No problem. 28, that’ll work. 40, rock on!

But 27? No way. 33? Ri-i-ight. 19? Are you kidding? 19 IS AN ODD NUMBER.

I have issues, don’t I?

New season of Man vs. Wild this November!

image Firstly, let me just say I am not interested in hearing your comments like, “Bear’s fake!” or “Les Stroud for president!” You can keep that hogwash to yourself thankyouverymuch.

The new season of Man vs. Wild starts this November, and this season, each episode is two hours long rather than one hour long which is vewy, vewy exciting. Here’s a bit of what Bear had to say in regards to their recent filming in Panama:

I have just got home from the Panama jungles – and it is no wonder the US sent so many of their SEALS and Astronauts to train there in jungle survival – it is definitely one of the toughest places I have been. I counted over 104 mosquito bites when I had a shower at the end!
The mangrove swamps were pretty hellish and I managed to get bitten by a snake for the first time which hurt! But apart from that I had a very special time with the Embera Tribe hunting together, and then following the old Gold trails of the Camino Real. We also filmed quite a bit of behind the scenes with the crew and safety team for Discovery Channel, to accompany the new Season that airs in early November.

We included as well a whole part of the show on survival ‘camouflage and concealment’, near the infamous Darien Gap on the Colombian border, which is one of the kidnapping hot spots of the world. I hope you will enjoy this show, it was gritty, dirty, humid and at times tasted foul!
