Friday YouTube Worship 08

Matt Redman’s Facedown album is one of my favorite worship albums of all time. In my opinion, every song on there is of high quality. Here’s a slower tune from that album called Pure Light. It’s a great song to just slow down to, and pause in His presence.

O, to see You as You are
To glimpse the wonders yet unseen
Assist my sight, unveil my eyes
To see You
Lord, to know You as You are
To even dare to speak or stand
Though marked beloved, to fall as dead
When I see You
And through grace untold, to see You
With this heart unveiled, to know You
Lord, in Your pure light
How great the glory of Your name
How small the voice I humbly bring
Yet with my all I raise a song
When I see You
It is the song of love’s pure light
The grace reflected in these eyes
The overflow of those who know
They have seen You
We are disgraced, but You graced us
With the warmth of Your forgiveness
Now You lead us ever closer
To the pure light of Your holiness
And I’ll sing of the wonders of Your grace
Sing of the wonders of Your grace
Sing of the wonders of Your grace, O Lord
And I’ll tell of the glory of Your name
Tell of the glory of Your name
Tell of the glory of Your name, O Lord

Five quick tips that will help your golf game

image 1. KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN - this is questionably the most critical part of the swing but the hardest to do. The body naturally wants to look up as the club nears the ball. You’ll have to think about keeping your head down during the entire swing.

2. Don’t take the club back any further than perpendicular to the ground - Stand facing a mirror and watch yourself as you swing back. At the top of your swing, your club should be perpendicular to the ground. If it’s further, you’re losing control of the club and you won’t hit the ball as crisply as you can.

3. Grip every club lightly - You should grip the club no harder than if you were holding a child’s hand. Gripping harder than that restricts your swing, causing you to lose power.

4. Turn your shoulders, not your arms - Grip the club with both hands. Imagine a triangle going from your left hand to your left shoulder to your right shoulder to your right hand. Your backswing is this triangle rotating around your trunk. Let your wrists relax near the top of the swing.

5. Swing as hard as you can - Several pros will tell you, swing as hard as you can. You can’t learn power later in life. Learn power early on, then focus on accuracy.

Many of you reading this know Kelsie. She’s not my only daughter, though.

Wendy and I have another daughter. Her name is Cristalba. She’s from The Dominican Republic and her birthday is in September.

She likes school and playing kickball. She has long hair and a quiet smile.

For $32 a month, Cristalba gets things other kids in her situation do not. Food, clothing, clean water, an education.

How does she get these things? Via Compassion International.

You might be thinking, “$32 a month?” Yep. I gave up that venti Hazelnut latte with an extra shot on Fridays. And in return, a little girl has access to a future she otherwise would not have.
